Categories Setup
Creating New Category
To create a category, use Categories Setup.
To create a category press and give it a name. Category names must be unique.
In Categories Setup we can see Current (active), Inactive, or All categories.
Managing Existing Categories
Category can be renamed or deactivated by pressing button next to the category name.
Active categories will be available when entering new transactions (). When editing transactions (), both active and inactive categories are available.
To deactivate a category, it must have $0 allocated to it. Category Transfer () can be used to achieve this.
Categories cannot be deleted if there are any transactions associated with them. If category is no longer needed, simply deactivate it.
Deactivated categories will not show up when new tranactions are entered but will still be visible when editing transactions or viewing reports.
Deactivated categories can be reactivated and used again.
